Price
vs Skelton
Price
continued his unbeaten run with another unstoppable performance against Matt
Skelton. After destroying Audley Harrison in October Price was looking for a
similar performance against the veteran Skelton in Liverpool. Skelton started
well but once Price got into his stride and found his range it was only ever
going to be Price who would come out on top. With Price frequently landing
blows, Skelton did well to make it to the end of the first. The start of the
Second saw a lethal combination from Price which almost had Skelton in serious
trouble. Skelton however was not going to make it to the end of the second;
with Price ruthlessly attacking he forced Skelton into the corner and landed a
series of blows to the body which saw Skelton slump to the ground. The referee
took no time in deciding that Skelton was done and brought the fight to an end.
Fury
vs Johnson
Tyson Fury
also continued his unbeaten run with a unanimous point’s victory over Kevin
Johnson in Belfast. The fight lacked in
action and was pretty lack lustre for the first five rounds. Fury had a point
docked in the seventh and was not making any real impact on the fight. Fury
began to show more in the eighth with a nice combination. The fight then carried
on at a slow pace until the final bell. Fury dominated the fight and was rarely
troubled, but it was a far cry away from his previous bouts where we’ve seen
him destroy opponents.
A Price vs
Fury fight has to happen sooner rather than later. With both fighters in my
opinion not ready for a fight against either of the Klitschko’s the biggest
fight out there for them is against each other. Boxing fans don’t want to see
another miss match fight for Price and Fury in which they breeze through with
ease. Let’s hope these two meet in a showdown soon.
