Price Shocked Again!

David Price’s career has once again been shattered from another massive setback after being stopped inside five rounds by American Tony Thompson for the second successive time. Many believed that it was a fluke when Thompson stopped Price in the second round in their last fight but the veteran American produced another big performance to shock the Liverpudlian in front of his home fans. Price started the fight cautiously and when he did throw punches he was landing some good shots.  The second round had much more action as Price landed two thudding right hands and as Thompson bent forward Price unloaded another right hand which sent the American to the canvas. Thompson got to his feet after the count of nine and was then saved by the bell. With Price’s confidence sky high many thought that he would get his revenge but Thompson has other ideas. The Veteran slowly came back landing a uppercut and a left at the end of the third round. Thompson landed yet another big uppercut in the fourth and left Price with a graze over his left eye. A right hook to Price’s body left him looking in danger before the end of the round. Round five proved to be another heartache round for Price as Thompson was firing at will. After several right and left hooks the end for Price was looking imminent. Thompson then trapped Price in the corner and the referee gave him a standing count after several big shots. Price was now a broken man and after the effect of endless power shots the referee waved off the fight. This is now Price’s second successive loss to Thompson and the boxing world will be wondering where Price goes from here.
