Great Night at York Hall...

Sprott Wins Prizefighter

Last night Michael Sprott won Prizefighter for the second champion after beating Jason Gavern in the final. Sprott eventually overcame Damian Wills in his first fight of the evening after the American initially looked dangerous. The semi-final saw Sprott meet Brian Minto in which he edged the decision after keeping the Americans high intensity style at bay. The event at York Hall that was based upon U.K vs. USA saw a ring legend in James Toney fight. The American looked a shadow of his former self, however he claimed the only stoppage of the tournament when he halted Matt Legg in the third round of their opening fight. Toney was to eventually come undone when he met Jason Gavern in the other semi-final in which he was eventually out boxed. When the night was done it was the veteran Sprott who emerged victorious and was presented the Prizefighter trophy by boxing legend Larry Holmes.

Joshua makes it Three out of Three

Anthony Joshua produced another emphatic win against Hrvoje Kisicek to continue his great start to the professional ranks. The Olympic champion exposed his opponent early on with vicious jabs and some classy combinations. Kisicek made it to the bell but could only make it until midway through the second round after Joshua unleashed a shuddering left uppercut followed by a right and left hook that saw his opponent hit the canvas. Kisicek made it to his feet only for Joshua to pick him off with some spiteful and with Croatian on the ropes taking punishment the referee waved the fight off.
