For months
now we’ve all been debating on whom Floyd Mayweather’s next opponent will be.
There have been many big names that have been linked with the undisputed pound
for pound number one fighter including Devon Alexander, Gennady Golovkin, Danny
Garcia, Amir Khan and Marcos Maidana. However within the last fortnight Mayweather
narrowed down his next opponent to just two in the form two former foes of Amir
Khan and Marcos Maidana. Then Mayweather took another step in choosing his next
opponent by getting his twitter fans to decide whom he should fight in a poll.
In the end it was Khan who finished first with a reported 60% of the final
vote. So with Khan winning the vote it
seems that he will be Mayweather’s next opponent and with a rumoured May date
in Las Vegas for the fight we haven’t got that long to wait. All that’s surely
left to do is finalise the paperwork, but as we all know anything can happen in
boxing so I wouldn’t book your tickets to Vegas just yet.
