Wladimir Klitschko hammered through Kubrat Pulev on Saturday
night in Germany to retain his WBO, IBF and WBO titles and remain the boxing
worlds heavyweight king. Although Pulev’s jab temporarily at the start looked
to cause Klitschko problems it was soon evident that it would be another night
of dominance from the Ukrainian champ after he floored Pulev twice in the first
round. Pulev was on the canvas again in the third round with Klitschko looking
as though he could finish his man at any moment. The fifth round proved to be
the last straw for Pulev after Klitschko produced a devastating sweeping left
hand that left the Bulgarian spread out flat on the canvas. The referee quickly
waved off the fight handing Klitschko his 17th consecutive title
defence victory.
