Campbell (11-0-KO9) was returning to the scene of his homecoming following Olympic gold glory in 2012, and told Sky Sports of the weigh-in: "It was great. It's exciting. Everyone coming here is fantastic. All the hard work is done and now it's just time to enjoy it.

Khan has revealed that talks have taken place with promoter Eddie Hearn over a British clash at Wembley.

 

"We had a meeting at my office and we discussed everything for a potential fight against Brook in 2016.” Khan

 

Khan has been trying to forge a career oven in the United States, with his last three fights have all been held out there. Khan's hopes of being Floyd Mayweathers next opponent for his September showdown are increasing looking slimmer. 

If this fight does come through, then it would be a massive night for British boxing and it fans.

Gennady Golovkin VS David Lemieux

Gennady Golovkin will face David Lemieux in a three-belt middleweight title unification bout. The fight will take place at Madison Square Garden in New York on the 17th of October.

This past month we have seen reports suggesting that a Golovkin could drop down to light middleweight and fight Floyd Mayweather, in what could be his last fight of his career. Also, that Golovkin could move up to super-middleweight and face Andre Ward, but he has opted for a 160-pound bout with Lemieux. Will we ever see Golovkin fight either of these two? Who knows. We dont think you can rule out a fight with Ward, but we now believe Mayweather is off the cards due to this fight  being announced.

- Golovkin is unbeaten in 33 fights with 30 knockouts, holding the WBA and WBC interim belt.
- Lemieux is not unbeaten but has 34 wins with 31 knockouts, holding the IBF belt.

Golovkin will be looking to carry on his dominant run, which has seen him accumulate 20 straight stoppage victories and 14 title defences over the past seven years. Lemieux will also be looking extend his nine straight successive victories and finally put a stop to Golovkins unblemished record.

Both fighters have an impressive record of knockout's, so this is definitely going to be a fight to watch!!

Carl Froch Retires

Today marks the day that one of the great British boxers of the modern sport retires.  The four-time world champion has now announced his retirement from professional boxing and will be joining Sky Sports as a pundit.

Carl Froch ‘The Cobra’ hangs up his gloves at the age of 38 having won the WBC, WBA and IBF super-middleweight titles during his career. Froch will be leaving the sport on a high, having knocked out George Groves in his final fight in front of 80,000 fans at wembley (May 2014).  He boasts an impressive record of 33 wins, 2 loses, with 24 KO’s.

Froch said: "I'm incredibly proud of what I have achieved in boxing but now is the right moment to hang up my gloves.  I have nothing left to prove and my legacy speaks for itself.

"Sky Sports is the home of boxing and has followed me throughout my career. I can’t wait to join the team and help bring fans the best fighters, the best contests and the best analysis."

Congratulations to Liam Walsh on his stoppage against Isaias Santos Sampaio over the weekend!!

Liam Walsh delivered a devastating blow to the body, which left his opponent flat on the canvas an unable to make the count. 

The reward for his effort was the WBO Intercontinental lightweight title and a postion in the top 10 rankings. This will put Liam a step closer to a world title fight.

Anthony Joshua will fight Dillian Whyte for the British heavyweight title!!

 

Joshua has convincingly beaten 13 opponents and to be honest, he hasn’t really been tested, having yet to go beyond three rounds. Dillian Whyte, who has recently served a two-year ban for failing a drug test, is also unbeaten, beating all 14 of his opponents.

This will be Anthony Joshua’s hardest test to date, both in and out of the ring. The rivalry between the two is common knowledge within boxing and is setting up this fight to be massive.

Dillian Whyte is Joshua’s one loss that he hopes he can avenge, having lost when they fought back in 2009 before they turned pro.

Liam Walsh Vs Isaias Santos Sampaio (11-07-2015)

UNDEAFEATED hot-shot Liam Walsh will now face big-hitting Brazilian Isaias Santos Sampaio this Saturday (July 11) at the Manchester Velodrome.

Walsh was scheduled to defend his British and Commonwealth titles against Troy James, but the Coventry fighter withdraw due to a back injury sustained in training.

Walsh will challenge for his fifth professional career title with the Vacant WBO Intercontinental Lightweight Championship on the line against big-hitting Brazilian Isaias Santos Sampaio.

Cotto VS Canelo

The hugely anticipated fight between middleweight champion Miguel Cotto and Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez is almost finalized, with the predicted fight date to be held some time in November. However, their two sets of promoters are still finalizing all the last details.

One thing that is for certain is the weight that both fighters will be 155 pounds, which would 5 pounds under the middleweight limit. Both of the fighters have previous fought and won convincingly at this weight, so neither fighter will gain a significant advantage at fighting at this weight.
