On Saturday
night IBF/IBO/WBA/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko will
defend his titles against the big punching Mariusz Wach at the o2 world arena
in Hamburg. You have to feel this is just another easy money title defence for
Klitschko. Wach has a big Polish fan base which means the fight is a good money
bout compared to some of the other more dangerous fights. Wach is still an
unfinished product because he lacks defensive skills and is slow on his feet.
He’s been fighting lower tier opposition and should have been given some tougher
tests before being thrown into the ring with Wladimir for a title shot. There
is no doubt that Wladimir is the best heavyweight in the world, so you have to feel
a bit sorry for Wach. In saying that Wladimir shouldn’t completely overlook the
challenge because of the major power Wach has in his right hand which can knock
anyone out if it’s landed. As a boxing fan there is always a part of you which
wants the big underdog upset but come Saturday night it will surely be another
punch perfect robotic performance for Wladimir Klitschko. As much that Wladimir
is still a great champion he should fighting in much bigger and tougher fights.
