Marquez KO’s Pacquiao!

Saturday night shocked the boxing world with Marquez beating Manny Pacquiao. Many expected this fight to be extremely close and possibly go either way but nobody expected Marquez to dispose of Pacquiao the way he did. The first two rounds started off evenly balanced with both men finding their range and settling in to what was a massive fight. The sparks began to fly in the third when Marquez sent Pacquiao to the floor with a big right hand, Manny took no time in getting to his feet but he was clearly rattled by the blow. The fourth round saw both men evenly battling it out and in the fifth Pacquiao showed signs of his old self with a well timed powerful left jab which sent Marquez to the canvas. Marquez was cut and clearly hurting and in the sixth Pacquiao went into finish the Mexican off, but with his all out attack attitude Pacquiao left himself open and Marquez produced a shattering counter-punch which left Pacquiao KO’d and face down on the canvas. After the last three controversial fights between the two there was no doubt who won this one. The loss leaves Pacquiao’s career in major doubt and questions marks over Freddie Roach. With Amir Khan and now Manny Pacquiao both showing big lapses in their defence, have they been going into fights completely fascinated with knocking their opponent out instead of seeing the fight out on points by out boxing their opponent.
