2013 Promises to Be a Big Year of Boxing!
Last year
had some great boxing moments but also had its sad ones. The death of the great
Emanuel Steward came to shock many and the return of Ricky Hatton ended up in
complete misery. However it was a great year for Carl Froch after destroying
Lucian Bute and Yusaf Mack and Danny Garcia also had a great year with a career
crumbling victory over Amir Khan. These were just a few moments which made 2012
but they’ve also made the foundations for what looks to be a big 2013. With the
rise of Tyson Fury and David Price the heavyweight division looks to have some
big and exciting fights, including a possible fight between David Haye and
Vitali Klitschko. After a long spell out of the ring Floyd Mayweather is set to
announce two big fight dates with a possible encounter with Saul Alvarez as one
of them. Many have deemed 2013 to be the year of the cobra with Carl Froch
looking better than ever with possible fights against Andre Ward and Mikkel
Kessler on the cards. Under new trainer Virgil Hunter Amir Khan looks to turn
his misfortune around and by the end of the year a rematch with Danny Garcia could
be possible. Branded “the new mayweather” Adrien Broner looks to take the
boxing world by storm with his slick and sharp boxing style. If nobody beats
Andre Ward in 2013 then he will surely go down as one of the greats, the
American is a truly gifted boxer and his unbeaten record shows that. There is
too many top fights and fighters to mention but with all the possible matchups
above 2013 looks to be a very big year for boxing.
